We wrote about Patch 7.00 when it landed, and less than two weeks later, Volvo has come out with its successor, 7.01. This continues the trend of large version number bumps, as most of the community expected the patch to be called 7.00a/b.
This patch brings with it several important bugfixes, most notably to Coaching, which was rendered completely broken by 7.00.
Here’s a rundown of what’s new

- Fixed the following panels not appearing: The Hall of Fame, Effigies and PA Arcana gravestones
- Fixed bugs with Coaching
- Added some new API calls for Bot Scripting
- Fixed guides you’ve published not appearing in your guides list
- The browse items tab now slides out as a modal panel instead of taking the place of the shop UI
- Restored Shop purchase hotkeys
- The pinned TP Scroll now shows a visual cooldown on it to indicate what the current TP cooldown is

Notable Changes
Monkey King sees some changes that bring some respite to beleaguered pub players, as they make his peak power level come at around level 11 instead of at level 7, with the rescaling of Boundless Strike’s critical damage from a flat 200% to 140/160/180/200%.
Natures Prophet‘s Level 25 Talent has been made a lot more relevant, and this brings for some interesting possibilities. With an Aghanim’s Sceptre, any treants that spawn from killing heroes gain x4 HP/Damage, giving rise to the 3300 HP treant. This may seem ridiculous, but it might just work out, as you’d need an Aghanim’s Sceptre and a kill, and be level 25 to make it happen. Its effectively a Warlock golem with 192 damage.
Meanwhile, Visage has been nerfed, for seemingly no reason, with the decrease in the Familiars HP and the reduction of his base damage. Visage has had the lowest pick rate, even lower than Chen for over six months now. Valve destroyed the rather cheesy but supremely effective Drow-Visage strat when they changed how Drow’s Precision Aura worked, way back in 6.84. Despite Valve’s series of small buffs throughout 6.88, there was still really no reason to pick Visage over the many other support heroes that are a lot more capable in the early-mid game.
Lastly, Underlord sees an increase in the duration of Pit of Malice, from 3.5 to 3.6 seconds. Is this going to be the new Vacuum cooldown?
