Set in the magical land of Oz, this NBC Wizard of Oz reimagining follows Dorothy Gale as she sets in motion a prophecy about a dangerous event known as The Beast Forever, setting herself up against the land’s mighty ruler, The Wizard. On her quest to meet him in Emerald City, Dorothy encounters many mysterious beings such as the witches, an amnesiac soldier, and a sheltered little boy. The show’s first season is currently running on NBC.

Taboo

IMDB: 9.1/10

In 1814, James Delaney, long believed to be dead, returns home to London from Africa to acquire his inheritance, only to find himself face to face with the most powerful trading organization of that era, the East India Company. In order to protect his father’s legacy, James must avoid his own death sentence and navigate across dangerous territories to build a shipping empire large enough to rival the East India Company. Although the show is brilliantly written and meticulously directed, its most attractive feature is, perhaps, the complex and intriguing main character, portrayed by Oscar nominee Tom Hardy. This is one show you don’t want to miss.

The first season shows Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon portraying Hollywood divas Joan Crawford and Bette Davis respectively, and follows their struggle as they team up to create the infamous film “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?” The series beautifully captures the sexism and misogyny of this era as the two women learn the cost success and fame.
